"We Live Two Lives"

Sending shipping containers to Guinea Bissau is expensive and time consuming. Almost equally expensive and time consuming is traveling over the terrible roads to buy things in the neighboring countries of Senegal and Gambia. We take things that are not available in these three countries. Most of the items we ship in a container are donated. The FLAME board decided we should ship a container again this yeas so we set in motion a plan to start gathering equipment, tools and supplies. We prayed to the Lord to open the hearts of people and organizations to respond to the needs of Guinea Bissau.

God overwhelmed us with donated items. Some examples are:240 gallons of latex paint, a brand new commercial sized air compressor with accessory tools - spray gun and impact wrench, ten hospital beds with mattresses for the Canchungo Hospital, nine boxes of medical supplies, three large boxes of vegetable garden seeds and dehydrated food to give to the poor. We purchased desks and chairs suitable for instructors, classroom chairs and tables for a fraction of their original cost from the Boeing Surplus store. Until time of shipment all these things mentioned and many more are stored in our 36' X 40' building.

Another one of our major projects while we are in the USA is work on a second video production with Kostov Productions. Michael Kostov has been so kind and generous in donating a video production on the work and vision of FLAME. We work together very closely. Martha is doing a good job of writing the script; Herb has taken hours of video filming and hundreds of still shots in Guinea Bissau. Michael's organization will rewrite the script and we will recommend film segments for them to draw from. The process takes a considerable amount of time but the end product will be well worth it.

Presenting the work of FLAME to churches and individuals is another challenge for us this summer and fall. We believe our job is to "sow seeds" and we rely on God to open hearts and doors as He alone can do. Getting to the right people in charge of mission support is often challenging. We thank God for those whom He has touched who now support FLAME with their gifts and prayers.

Thank you for your love and prayers.
Love,
Herb and Martha Reynolds
