Help Themselves Home What Is WAVS » The People of WAVS Industrial School How You Can Help Contact Us | FLAME/WAVS is a ministry built on the love of God. It was inspired by God and is for the express purpose of serving Him by helping others. Read our Progress Report. When Martha Reynolds first went to Guinea Bissau in 1996, she could not help but notice the deep poverty of the country. Despite that poverty, however, she found the people to be among the most generous, happy and caring people she has ever found. Her inquiries later revealed Guinea Bissau to be the fifth poorest nation in the world, and the least industrialized. God revealed to Martha that He wanted her to start an Industrial school in Guinea Bissau to teach the population business skills that they can use to make a better living for their families. The following explains what God is leading us to do: Jesus’ Industrial School has been built in the town of Canchungo where auto mechanics, sewing, computer and English classes are being taught. The Bible is read each day as classes start. The plan is to start other classes. A long term goal is that the school will become totally Guinean and not need support from any other country. This is in progress as there is now an elected General Assembly (28 people from many towns in the nation) and an elected Canchungo School Board, all of local people, in place. You could insert a picture of the general assembly I sent you on the CD you received recently. |
